March 30 Library Groundbreaking

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED!

The Grand Ledge Area District Library will be undergoing some long-anticipated renovations.  Changes will include adding about 1300 sq. ft. of collections space, an elevator, adding powered doors to both of our entrances, an additional bathroom in the meeting room, renovated bathroom on the first floor, and the creation of a small study room.  The elevator will allow our guests with wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers the ability to move between library levels without venturing outside!  During renovations, rental of the meeting room will not be available to the public and library programming will be moved offsite.  Laux Construction has been awarded the contract and work is anticipated to begin very soon.

Classes start Saturday, April 2

Rosalie Petrouske's
Spring Poetry
Workshop & Schedule

"To See a World in a Grain of Sand:  Writing Poetry about Nature"

"To see the world in a grain of sand ..." wrote William Blake.  The poet might as well have been a nature writer.
Join local published poet and essayist Rosalie
Sanara Petrouske for a nature poetry writing workshop.  There will be lively readings, discussions, walks outdoors with acute observing, and several writing assignments.
In this workshop, participants will explore their own experiences with nature, in whatever form they take.  They'll learn to find the relevant details of the experience and write about them in ways that are both deeply personal and universal.
Writers of all abilities and backgrounds are welcome.  Likewise, participants need no formal training in poetry; only a desire to see the world around them with new eyes.
Classes will begin on April 2nd in celebration of National Poetry Month.

$60.00 for a five-week session.   Contact Rosalie at (517) 316-6888 or email her at prosalie@comcast.net for information and registration.
Classes will meet on Saturdays from 9:30 - 12:30 at Ledge Craft Lane, 120 S. Bridge Street, Grand Ledge, MI.

Class dates:  April 2, April 16, April 23, May 7, May 14
